Prevention
We place a strong emphasis on preventive dental care for all our patients, but pay extra special attention to those precious developing teeth of the youngest members of our practice.
Regular visits to the dentist from an early age will ensure that your child becomes used to the sights, smells and sounds of a dental practice and will go on to develop a relaxed attitude to appointments.
Teeth start to appear at around six months so this is the ideal time for your little one’s first visit to the dentist. This is also when you should start cleaning their teeth with a baby toothbrush and a smear of toothpaste. As children get older, try to encourage them to brush their teeth regularly and remember they will need to be supervised so you can make sure they are cleaning their teeth properly.
We offer plenty of tooth cleaning tips and also give dietary advice; explaining the importance of regulating how and when sugary foods are eaten to help prevent tooth decay.
